Storey homes offers variety and style at Lime Tree Court

When buying a new home, especially an off-plan purchase, it is important to make sure you know what you’re getting for your money. With this in mind, buyers will find inspiration at Lime Tree Court in Ampthill, where housing developer Storey Homes has created a beautiful show home that demonstrates the flexible of the homes available to inspire potential purchasers.

An exclusive development of just 14 new homes, Lime Tree Court is a rare opportunity to buy in a sought after area. Located in Ampthill, an area rich in history dating back to Anglo-Saxon times, Lime Tree Court is set in the quintessential English countryside and is the perfect location for those in search of the traditional village lifestyle. With 75% of homes already sold in the first phase, it is a true indication of this exceptional opportunity to buy in Ampthill.

The brand new four and five bedroom homes are set within a secure, gated development, offering the last word in style, practicality and convenience. All properties benefit from either a garage or carport and allocated parking, as well as communal bicycle storage, and each property has its own private rear garden, which has been sympathetically landscaped to fit in with the development's location.

Speaking of the new show home, Managing Director of Storey Homes, Katy Jordan, says “What makes these homes so special is they are incredibly versatile for every stage of your life; residents will be able to start, grow and enjoy their family within this beautiful, gated community. So far we have had a variety of buyer, attracted by the flexible and diverse style of these homes. In such a charming village, the location will no doubt also make Lime Tree Court extremely popular”.

A stunning example of the homes at Lime Tree Court, the four bedroom Linden show home oozes sophistication, highlighting how a family home needn’t lack quality design. Set over three floors, the flexible living accommodation allows families to spend quality time together and permit privacy.

When designing the show home at Lime Tree Court, an emphasis on practicality allied with style is at the forefront. Open place kitchen / dining areas form the heart of the home, providing access to the rear garden through French doors. The living and family rooms provide a comfortable retreat. There is also a downstairs cloakroom, and a utility area which discreetly conceals the functional elements of the home. Bedrooms are generously proportioned, with the master boasting a private dressing area and en-suite shower room.

All of the homes at Lime Tree Court enjoy a high quality specification, with individually designed kitchens fitted with integrated appliances. Stylish bathrooms feature contemporary white sanitaryware, finished with chrome fixtures and Porcelanosa floor and wall tiles. Each property has been designed to be highly energy efficient and sustainable materials have been used in construction wherever possible.

The historic market town of Ampthill offers a plethora of leisure amenities, making the new homes ideal for family living. The bustling town offers a variety of independent boutiques, as well as Waitrose, and a weekly market. Evening entertainment is catered for in the form of several bars, restaurants and eateries, while a little further from home the towns of Bedford and Milton Keynes offer a more extensive range of retail and leisure opportunities.

For outdoor pursuits, the town plays host to a range of sports, including rugby, tennis, cricket and bowls. Ampthill Park’s 70 acres are ideal for those in search of some fresh air, and Woburn Safari Park and Centre Parcs are also close by for family entertainment.

Lime Tree Court is perfectly positioned near a great selection of Ofsted rated Good schools, such as The Firs and Russell Lower Schools, while adjacent to the development is Alameda Middle School. Redbourne College, an Outstanding higher education facility, is a short walk away. Nearby Bedford boasts even more schooling options including a range of independent schools.

In charge of all she surveys – Katy Jordan tells her property storey

Historically, board rooms and building sites are not known for being particularly female friendly. According to the Office of National Statistics, women make up only 11% of the construction workforce. But with an increasing number of construction companies supporting women in the industry a small cultural revolution is beginning.

And as Katy Jordan, Managing Director of Milton Keynes-based house builder Storey Homes will testify, women in property and construction are really making an impact and beginning to change the established face of the property world.

Katy is no exception. Qualifying as a quantity surveyor in the early 90’s, she went straight to work for Essex-based Countryside as an Estimator. Progressing through the company, Katy was promoted to development and then land manager. After 11 years with Countryside, Katy left as a board member of the London & Thames Gateway Ltd managing £100,000,000 of construction expenditure.

Following a number of years working in property development and as a development management consultant Katy, was invited to join the board of a small house builder as Land and Development Director in 2011.

In January 2015, Katy was appointed managing director of family-owned Storey Homes. She has been tasked with pushing the company’s growth strategy and rolling out the firms’ largest scheme, 152 homes in Warwick Road, in the centre of Bedford.

So after a year in the role, what is it that Katy wants to achieve for Storey Homes? Her answer is definitive. “To be the best developer in the region.”

“We are passionate about creating unique developments where people what to live. Because we are a smaller house builder, we can spend that extra time with our customers and deliver a unique home they will appreciate and treasure.

“Our buyers are attracted to living somewhere that is brand new, that no one’s ever lived in before. We have a duty to deliver a product and experience that lives up to people’s expectations.”

At the moment Storey Homes is building at two sites, a development of 14 town houses in Ampthill and 152 residential units in Bedford, their largest development yet. Ampthill is a unique development of private homes in a gated community, within walking distance of the town centre and close to excellent schools.  Buyer’s confidence in the market is translating into sales - " nearly half the properties have sold off plan without a show home.

The Bedford scheme is on the former De Montfort University site in the town centre, with a range of homes to suit a variety of prices points. The next phase of homes is due to launch in the spring, with completions set for the end of the year. All the homes in Bedford will be available with Help to Buy, which Katy says has been a real incentive for buyers, in particular local people.

Storey Homes might be one of the smaller housebuilding in the market, but the company, under Katy’s leadership has big aspirations. It has a substantial land portfolio that it is looking to promote, as well as new sites and opportunities for growth.

Explaining the company’s approach to growth Katy says: “We take a twin-track approach when assessing new sites. We strategically purchase sites in areas where we can see growth, but also that we would want to live in ourselves. This gives us a unique perspective, keeping our purchaser’s aspirations at the forefront of our growth plans.”

With Katy’s tenacity, customer focus and strong track record in development Storey Homes’ 2016 is already looking like it will be extremely successful.
